Muhammad Golam Kibria

Professor Dr. Muhammad Golam Kibria, SMIEEE, is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He completed his Ph.D. in Engineering from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), South Korea, in 2018, specializing in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Web of Objects. He also earned an M.Sc. from Greenwich University, United Kingdom, in 2008.   

 

With nearly 20 years of experience spanning academia, research, and industry, Professor Kibria has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He has supervised around 100 undergraduate students and served as an external evaluator for master’s theses at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He is actively engaged in several national and international funded projects, including the European Union (EU)-funded Erasmus+ program, as well as ICTD and MOST projects in Bangladesh, serving as both a primary and co-investigator.   

 

Professor Kibria has presented his research at international conferences and meetings across Austria, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and Bangladesh. He has also made significant contributions to standardization initiatives at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T), a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN).   

 

In addition to his research and academic activities, Professor Kibria has chaired multiple international conferences and served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member and reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is an enlisted Program Evaluation Team Member for BAETE, IEB.   

 

As a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE), Professor Kibria is associated with the IEEE Computer Society (CS), IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), and holds executive roles within the IEEE CS BDC (2022-2024) and IEEE SPS BDC (2025).
